Programme Intent

The programme aims to support learners to become Chartered Managers. To acquire and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to take responsibility for people, projects, operations and/or services. to deliver long-term organisational success, with the professional recognition of their ability to deliver impact, behave ethically and demonstrate their commitment to continual learning and development.

Implementation

The Chartered Manager degree apprenticeship will provide learners with high-quality management and leadership training to prepare them for their future careers. This is a work-based learning programme with a critical emphasis on employability and professional development. A workshop-based learning journey supports learners to contextualise understanding learning applied directly into the workplace.

Impact

Chartered Managers have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to enhance their professional practice and contribute to their organisation’s objectives.

Preparing for EPA

Assessment of Knowledge, skills and behaviours and duties is conducted through a holistic End-Point Assessment. The outcome of the EPA determines whether the apprentice is competent to undertake the identified occupation.

It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure the apprentice meets the Gateway requirements Chartered manager (degree) / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Educationhttps://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/chartered-manager-degree-v1-1 to enable them to progress to the EPA. it is important that the apprentice has had adequate opportunity to practice the form of assessments required for the EPA. Maths and English achieved at Level 2 MUST be achieved prior to undertaking EPA.

The section of organisation that will conduct the EPA is a matter of employer choice and this will be selected from the ‘Register of end-point assessment organisations’. The responsibility for arranging the EPA lies with the University. The University will continue to support the apprentice until the EPA has been completed in the case of non-integrated EPAs. This may include structured learning and training activities after the completion of the degree award. Commitment from the employer to release the apprentice for these activities is required.
